Sheesh Mahal, Jaipur India

Another unforgettable experience that I had at Jaipur was the visit to Sheesh Mahal. Sheesh means Glass or Mirror and Mahal means palace. So you can call it a palace of mirrors. And indeed it was, one of the best craftsmanship I had ever seen with mirrors (shiny metallic pieces). The walls and the ceilings were covered with various designs embedded with shiny metallic pieces. During the day, with the reflection of daylight, it created an ambiance of a palace studded with diamonds. I didn’t get the time to stay there till night. Also I am not even sure whether it is open during the night. But I can imagine the time of the rulers when they used fire torches or lamps. The yellow light reflections from the mirrors at night would have looked far better than during the day.
